Upstart budget airlines brings back fly for free!

Wow, Fly without fairs!

BUDGET carrier Cebu Pacific, which booked a net loss in the first half of 2008, is bringing back its zero-fare promo for flights to 12 Asian cities.

But the zero fares are exclusive of taxes and applicable surcharges. The surcharges are $46 to $90 depending on the destination.

Candice Iyog, the company’s vice president for marketing and products, said more than 35,000 seats would be offered.

The seats may be booked online beginning today until Aug. 27, and for travel from Sept. 16 to Dec. 17.

I have not flown with this Cebu based airline but I certainly plan too. I hope they don’t go out of business, they have to be feeling the pressure.

Cebu Pacific posted a net loss for the first quarter of the year caused mostly by the soaring price of fuel. The Philippines needs this kind of competition. I have flown on Pacific Airlines and they are a first class airline.

Most expats are required to leave the country every 16 months.  Cebu Pacific will help all of us with their lower fees.
