We had another all day brown out in Bogo City yesterday. I was able to sleep through much of it but finally about 1pm I could sleep no more. My battery powered fan is dying a slow death. Perhaps we over charged it. So I’m looking to buy a new one but with a power strip that also has a time so it will switch itself off.
We also went to a public beach nearby. Again very rocky. I am told there is a passage way to the beach and someone pointed over there. I looked and it looked like you’d have to be part monkey or very drunk to attempt that!
Brownout Resort Hunting In Bogo City
So, I took a cold shower, which was okay considering all the heat. Jessie and I were off to Jolibee. Jollibee is my brownout retreat as they have aircon when there is no power in the rest of Bogo City. The “mall” has one but its warm in there even when the power is at full strength. Jollibee’s is not much better but at least I’m sitting and not moving around much. Its also on the lower floor, which helps to keep it cooler. I take my fan with me when I go even when the power is on. I’m very hot natured.
I can live with the heat but these brownouts really hack me off. I guess, I will have to live with those too but I’m going to grumble about it. We had another one just now, while I was moving files to Jessie’s PC over the network. Another reason to growl.
While at Jollibee’s, I ran into my friend Joe Bogo. He suggested we go out to The Hide Away Beach Resort in Odlot. Odlot is a barangay of Bogo City. Its about a 20 minute ride by tricycle.
I just noticed a review about it having white sand beaches, not where I was. Perhaps in other locations. Where I was the coast line was rocky but it was beautiful none-the-less. Its off the beaten path and further out from town so there are not a lot of tourist there. They do have four rooms. I didn’t think to inquire about their pricing. Might be nice to stay out there. I don’t know about the quality so I wont speculate. The staff was very friendly though and pleasing to look at too!
I’ve got Pictures of Odlot Beaches In Cebu
I took my camera and took some pictures that I will share. The water is very clear and I would go swimming there. I didn’t pay the entrance fee though, we were there to just look around a bit. If I had my own transportation, I would likely go often. I’m starting to think about buying a multi-cab (like a small Ford Ranger pickup truck) but for now, I’m only thinking about it.
We also went to a public beach nearby. Again very rocky. I am told there is a passage way to the beach and someone pointed over there. I looked and it looked like you’d have to be part monkey or very drunk to attempt that. Or at least younger and more nimble than me. I am many things, nimble is not one of them!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pictures of my little Cebu Experience. I had a great time taking them. However, my legs were sore the next day.
