Cebu City Anti-Indecency Board
Those are strange words for most American’s. Though I’m sure some would love to see the USA return to those days. Anyone that knows me at all knows, I really dislike anyone judging others. I dislike it when someone else is being judged. Doesn’t have to be directed at me. I guess one might say, I’m intolerant of those that are unable to accept the choices of others.
This isn’t the USA bud. You don’t have to like it, you don’t have agree with it but how dare you put it down. Expect everything to be different, embrace it, and live it.
However, I will say it again, I choose not to live in the USA and that means taking everything that goes along with it. Doesn’t mean I agree with everything but I try to keep my mouth shut in areas where the government is involved as the government prefers that I keep my mouth shut. Well, at least my opinion. I don’t think they have any problems with foreigners sharing the knowledge and the expectations.
For me, that there is even an anti-indecency board says a lot. Reminds me of boards that existed in the USA at one time, mostly before I was born. The McCarthy Commission era. I think most of those boards though were not government run boards.
At the time of writing this article, there are a lot of articles in the paper regarding massage parlors. Mostly related to what is called liaman massage. You’ll have to look that up if you want to know more. For many in power in Cebu, its not something that is accepted. Some must want it
as the concern is that they are growing at a rapid rate. Does that mean what the people and the government want differ? The Cardinal waded into the matter saying something along the lines that the immorality must be stopped.
I’ll only say, God gives me a choice, least I can do is give “you” one as well. I mean if God thinks we should choose our own way and last I checked, and since I’m a few rungs down the latter from his level, don’t think its my place to choose for you. I guess others feel they are in position to choose for “you.”
Sexual matters are taboo here. To a different level of what most westerners are use too. It is another of the many things you will need to adjust too. Once again, I don’t want to hear someone say “Well, in the USA we do it so and so.” That really makes my bacon sizzle. This isn’t the USA bud. You don’t have to like it, you don’t have agree with it but how dare you put it down. Expect everything to be different, embrace it, and live it. After all, now you’re living in Cebu.
