I go on many more walks than I write about. I don’t go as often as I use to but I’m trying to get back up to it. I forgot to put on sun screen yesterday and when you have auto-immune diseases you should always wear sun screen. When I don’t do it, I shed skin, my X1 use to say I shedding my skin like a snake. LOL I guess I should have seen that divorce coming.

Hi Rusty, These are all fun pictures. It goes to show you what you can see when you get out and walk around. Just please don’t forget that sunscreen! FYI that Bird of Paradise plant is the lobster claw variety–there are a lot of different kinds. That plant is a member of the banana family.
Yea, I’m paying the price for forgetting the sun screen.
My face is really burning today. Not a sunburn. It use to be a lot worse, could see the rawness. I had a very pronounced lupus type rash. Don’t have that any more.
I should have turned around when I remembered but it was cloudy and even though I know better decided it would be okay. That just makes it seem okay. When it is cloudy there are often more UV rays as they bounce off the clouds.
I really feel like a vampire at times, if I get out in the sun, I dissolve.
Hi Rusty,
Have you been over here to Dumaguete yet. The town of Valencia is in the mountains just above the city. It is usually at least 5 degrees cooler than the coast. It is a pretty little town and only a half hour from the city center. Many expats seem to like it. Dumaguete itself is so different from Cebu City I can’t draw comparisons. You might enjoy coming over for a few days to look things over. I know that the fact that it is Cebuano speaking was a big plus for my wife. I am a card carrying ACLU member with an Arkansas concealed carry permit. I spent my last year in the States in TN. If you get over this way let me know it may be fun to meet up.
Kenny
No I haven’t Ken but that sounds wonderful! I also hear the prices in Baguio are more like Manila and thus a lot higher. I’m going to have to look into that.
I haven’t been able to travel the islands the way I want too. I’m not as poor as many expats but I’m certainly not as rich as many either. I guess I’m just right, like Goldilocks. LOL Hmm, a bed could be too hard but it is dang hard to find anyone that thinks they have too much money.
Ken,
I’m going to send you an email to give you my cell phone number, if you don’t mind, send me a text message so I’ll have your number so I can contact you when I decide to visit there. Sounds like a place I need to visit.
I’ve wanted to visit Bacolod for a while too.
