A new survey indicates that one in five families go hungry at least once over a period of three months. That is there is no food in the household at least once to a few times in the prior three months.
I don’t know their methodology, but if the poll doesn’t include people on Carbon St. in Cebu City or includes too many of them these numbers would be badly unreliable. The poll was conducted by the Social Weather Station.
Giving money to beggars on the street has become more of a problem for me. It seems “the syndicate” as it is called by the Filipino is sending people into the streets to beg. The last thing I want to do is support that kind off thing. Its not likely an issue in Bogo or other small towns but in Cebu City it is.

I personally believe that the number is very low, under-representing the true statistics.
I agree with you. If you consider also who didn’t get enough to eat. Seemed the survey included only those that had nothing. Some Filipino are often getting something to eat but sometimes only crackers or a handful of rice.
