If anyone tells you that the Philippines doesn’t get tornadoes don’t believe it. They are not common but I read a story a few months back about the Philippines developing a tornado warning system.
One or more tornadoes are being blamed for destroying homes on the Island of Samar during the tropical storm that hit this week:
The tornado hit the villages of Rawis, Carolina and Malago Tuesday afternoon at the height of tropical storm “Feria,” said Can-avid Mayor Norman Germino in a telephone interview yesterday.
Tornadoes are not common but they can happen any where and they that includes the Philippines.
