Yesterday evening while on my walk, Jessie noticed a huge banner announcing SuperFerry routes leaving Bogo City Port. I will post more information soon. I know one destination is Leyte Province but I will obtain exact destinations and prices and post them on the forum and provide a link back to the forums to that post.
Living In The Philippines -- The Cebu Experience
Hi, my name is Rusty Ferguson. I am an American expat living in the Philippines since February of 2008. I grew up in the Southern USA. I retired early and decided to add some excitement to my life by moving to the Philippines.
I am having the best time of my life. If you are thinking about moving to the Philippines this is the site for you. Follow along and learn how to avoid some of the mistakes I have made and some of the things that have gone well for me.
With this blog, I cover topics like living in the Philippines, the cost of living in the Philippines, Filipino cultureand the US dollar to Philippine peso exchange rate. Being a lover of photography, there are many photorgraphs throughout this blog. Nearly all of which have been taken by me.
|This is Jessie. She is Filipina and is my girlfriend. She has lived in the Philippines all her life is a great source of information for me. |
She helps me with this website, mostly working in the background as my proof reader. Which is a bit ironic since English is not her first language. Her friends from Tacloban make fun of her because when she speaks English now, she does so with a bit of a Southern Accent.
Jessie is an angel but she's got a fiesty attitude. Since she has to deal with me day in and day out, that is a good thing. But I lovingly call her my ornery angel at times. She treats me like a king.
At 49, I never thought I’d be met by a group of squealing teenage girls and some young adults too. Now this is not going to my head but I sure did enjoy it. I mean some of these girls were not even in school yet. Two of them looked of age though. They were sitting in a covered “waiting area” and they started waiving and asked me to take their picture.
All Americans are Rich!
Hey ]oe, give me all your money! A child playfully shouted out as I walked past the other day. I’m certainly living better than these children. They were outside their home as I walked by. The home is not much more than a shack. These kids mean no harm and I take no offense. However, it is telling of what many Filipino believe. They probably would be surprised to find out just how poor some Americans are. Some Americans are just as poor as many Filipino. Many Americans are even poorer.
One of my most enjoyable Cebu Experience I’ve had in the Philippines is the Philippine Monkey we purchased. his name is George, my guess is Curious George but I don’t know.
This Philippine sunset setup the silhouette of the deckhands on this pump boat. The Philippines are a beautiful place in its simplicity.
