Just Back From Bantayan Island Beach Resorts

I spend the last three days on Bantayan Island! Just a short note for now. Jessie and I took over 350 pictures. Don’t know how many of Jessie’s pictures will be usable. She got some great shots but some of the more difficult photographic opportunities may have lighting issues. She’s learning fast though, no surprise, Jessie the only person I know that is almost as smart as me. :)

I’m pretty exhausted as we visited the town this time, got very hot and that’s going to take a lot out of me. Jessie took a Filipina friend along this time. Her name is Jean. Even Jean had trouble with the heat.

Gone Surfing

Wind Surfing In Cebu

I’ve been talking with a Filipino for about a year now. His name is Adrian. He’s responded to a couple of comment on this site. He’s an avid wind surfer and we’ve talked about meeting up but have never done so. At least not yet.

Last month when I was in Bantayan Island I saw a couple wind surfing and decided to text Adrian. It had been sometime since I last did so. I was a little surprised when his number was still good, but happy. It is not uncommon for a Filipino to change their number. Jessie has had about 5 since I’ve known her! She’s not the only one, many numbers change.

Bantayan Island Tristan’s Resort

The food at Tristan’s is the best I’ve had since arriving in the Philippines. I had Pizza for about P290 and it was build your own. Unlike so many places, they didn’t limit me to the choices on the menu which in the Philippines are not choices I care for. I also had breaded pork chops which I thought was much better than the pizza. It was my girlfriend that kept wanting to get pizza. The pizza is a little cheaper. I just don’ t need to eat that much. The pork chops and most other entrees were around P200 each. We also had breakfast at P200 each. I had an American breakfast while Jessie had a Filipino breakfast. These were the best meals I’ve had here and they were expertly presented.

Bantayan Island Close Up

Bantayan Island Tour

Last month I visited Bantayan and feel in love with the place! I haven’t been able to write all the articles about my first visit and I have already setup plans for a second visit. This time I’m going wind surfing!

Thought I would write about where I stayed and what it cost to get there and stay there. I’m living in Bogo City, so I’m very close.

Bantayan Island Pictures

Bantayan Island in Pictures

I will just go ahead and post the gallery for now of all the pictures I took during my first trip to Bantayan Island. We still have a LOT of the Island I have not seen. Jessie saw bit more of it than I did. That’s okay, I got more rest than she did. :)

There is an old church there that I hope to visit this month. There are some old homes. I’m a little unclear on that, I thought Jessie said built during the Spanish colony years. The church too I think. We didn’t have time to visit that last time.
